How it works

Start with a consultation, leave with a plan

Every journey is different. A pre-travel consultation lets us assess your destinations, the kind of trip you're taking, and your medical history, and build the right vaccination plan from there. You don't have to commit to anything on the day: we talk it through, you decide.

We're a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, so if you need that certificate for entry into parts of Africa or South America we can issue it on the spot.

When to book

Give yourself enough time

Some vaccines need more than one dose spread over weeks to be fully effective. The earlier you book, the more options you have, but we can still help at short notice.

8+ weeks

Ideal

Some vaccinations need multiple doses spread over weeks. Book your consultation as early as you can.

4–6 weeks

Still plenty of time

Enough notice for most standard vaccinations and to start antimalarial tablets if needed.

1–2 weeks

Last minute

We'll do what we can. Call us first; some protection is better than none.

Common questions

Travel clinic FAQs

Do I need to register with you?
No. Travel clinic is a private service, so you don't need to be registered with us for NHS prescriptions to book a travel consultation.
How long does a consultation take?
A first consultation typically takes 20–30 minutes. We go through your destinations, assess risk, and agree on a vaccination plan. Any vaccines we administer after that add 5–10 minutes per jab.
Can I book for my whole family?
Yes. Book one consultation slot per traveller. Let us know in advance if it's a group so we can allow enough time. We can vaccinate children from the minimum age for each vaccine.
What if I need something you don't stock?
Most travel vaccinations are available on the day or we can order them in within 24–48 hours. If a product is harder to source we'll tell you straight away and point you to the nearest provider who has it.
Do I need antimalarials as well as vaccines?
Possibly. Malaria is a parasite, not a virus, so there's no vaccine. Protection is tablets plus bite avoidance. We'll check your destinations against the latest NaTHNaC guidance and recommend the right medication.
