How repeat prescriptions work at Wellsway

If you're on long-term medication, the repeat prescription routine is one you'll go through every month or two. Here's how it works with Wellsway, and how to make it as painless as possible.

You order your repeat from your GP surgery, not from the pharmacy. The quickest way is the NHS App, which shows your repeat list and lets you tick what you need. Your surgery's own online system (SystmOnline or Patient Access, depending on the practice) does the same job, or you can hand the paper repeat slip in at the surgery. Your GP then approves the prescription, usually within two to three working days.

Once it's approved, if Wellsway is your nominated pharmacy the prescription comes straight to us electronically. There's no paper to drop off and nothing to chase. We dispense it, usually the same day it reaches us, and you can collect from Hayes Place or we'll deliver locally for free.

A couple of tips: order about a week before you run out, so there's time for the surgery to approve it, and if you're not sure whether a prescription has reached us yet, ring us on 01225 427 456 and we'll check. Not nominated us yet? It takes two minutes. Pop in, call, or use the nomination form on our website.
